  • Providing quality continuing education throughout the state of Minnesota:
  • MFDA’s 128th Annual Convention at the DoubleTree in Bloomington will offer CEUs in the three required categories for funeral directors, as well as opportunities to network with colleagues and funeral industry vendors
  • District meetings throughout the state in the fall
  • Preneed insurance CEU course offered in the fall
  • Crematory Operator Certification courses
  • Coming in January 2018 – Online CEU courses (discounted rate for members)
  • MFDA Career Center connects employers with job seekers and members receive a 50% discount on job postings
  • MFDA committees work to address relevant topics associated with funeral service (Workforce, Outreach/Public Relations, Convention, and Legislative)
  • Third MFDA Leadership Academy (sponsored through Kelco Supply Co, MFDA, and MFDA Service Corp) is currently underway for young professionals
  • Partnerships with Funeral Directors Life, Federated Insurance, and the Children’s Grief Connection
  • Promoting the value of funeral service to consumers that call our office or visit our website

Allied Members - What type of visibility benefits are there as an MFDA Allied Member?

  • MFDA’s quarterly newsletter (The Bulletin) is rated as the number one valued member benefit. To advertise, Allied Members pay between $50-$450 per month for business card to full-page ads. You will also receive a copy mailed to you.
  • MFDA Allied Members receive and will be listed in our MFDA Membership Directory
  • MFDA Allied Members are listed in the Bulletin and on our website
  • New in 2018: Allied Members will be highlighted in emails sent to MFDA funeral home members and their staff
  • MFDA’s Annual Convention - MFDA’s Annual Convention brings more than 250 attendees together over three days. MFDA Allied Members can exhibit at convention—A great opportunity to visit one-on-one with attendees as an exhibitor.  Allied Members pay $800-900 for a 8’ x 10’ booth space. Car exhibitor spaces are $1,550.  Non-members pay a higher rate.
  • Convention Sponsorship opportunities will be highlighted in the Convention & Expo prospectus and posted on our website, www.mnfuneral.org at the end of January 
  • MFDA has a web site and allied members will be displayed on the web site along with links to your web site.  Banner advertising opportunities are also available at www.mnfuneral.org
  • New in 2018: Additional educational opportunities provided by MFDA for Firm Members and their staff will present new sponsorship opportunities for Allied Members

MFDA membership structure includes the following categories:

 

Firm - membership pricing includes three components: 

  • Firm - $440
  • Branches- $250/per branch
  • #of death cases, excluding children and welfare cases- $8.00/per case

Individual - Open to licensed funeral directors who do not work for a member firm - $440

 

Allied - Companies that sell goods and services to the funeral industry - $360

 

Emeritus - Retired funeral directors with no affiliation with a member firm - $150

 

University of Minnesota Partnership - Open to individuals who are employees of the University of Minnesota - $360

 

Student - Individuals who are currently enrolled in a recognized School of Mortuary Science (Must provide Mortuary Science School name) - Free
